Features

Voice Mail

  • Everyone on the Roshan network gets access to the Voice Mail service. If your mobile is turned off, engaged or simply unavailable, calls are answered by a pre-recorded personal greeting, which invites callers to leave a message.
  • When someone leaves you a message, you will receive a text message, indicated by an envelope on your mobile screen. To read the text message or clear the envelope from your screen, you need to go into the message menu on your mobile (for detailed instructions on how to do this, see your mobile manual).
  • To set up a Personal Greeting, dial 777. You will be asked to enter a new Voice Mail PIN code the first time you use this service. Your PIN is preset at 1234.
  • To set up a Name Greeting ( callers will be greeted by a pre-recorded message that includes your name), dial 777 and record your Voice Mail PIN code and name.
  • To pick up your Voice Mail from your mobile, call 777 and follow the voice instructions. The first minute of message retrieval is free, after that you will be charged 5 cents per minute.
  • To pick up your Voice Mail when roaming abroad or from a landline phone, dial
    +93 79 789789. At the tone, enter your mobile number (e.g. 079xxxxxx), and then press the # key. Enter your Voice Mail PIN code then press the # key again. Follow the voice instructions.
  • Listening to your Voice Mail this way costs the same as calling a mobile from a landline. The cost will be listed on your landline phone bill.

Text Messaging (SMS)

  • Text messaging is a highly affordable and discreet way to communicate when you just need to get a quick message across, especially when the person you need to contact is in a meeting or at restaurant where it is too noisy to talk. Just call 333 to get started.
  • Texting is an easy, affordable way to stay in contact. Everyone on our network can send text messages (up to 160 characters in length) for just 5 cents per message (nationally), and they are free to receive.
  • To get set up for texting, go through the message menu and ensure that your mobile is set to the Message Centre number (079 900100). Then, get texting! Your ‘Getting Started' manual includes detailed instructions on how to use text messaging.

International Calls

  • Roshan offers very low international rates. You do not have to think twice about calling overseas from your mobile. Just enter ‘+', the country code, the area code without the first 0, and the number you want to call.
    - e.g. To call a landline in Dubai, dial + 971 50 12345678
  • Foreign visitors to Afghanistan will also be able to use their mobile and SIM card on the Roshan network.

Caller ID

  • With this service you will know who is calling before you answer. Caller ID puts you in control, displaying a name or number on your mobile's screen, so you can decide whether you want to receive the call or not.
  • If you want your name and number permanently restricted, call 333 and talk to one of our Customer Service representatives.
