Kabul, March 2nd, 2017
Roshan, Afghanistan’s leading telecommunications provider, announced the winner of the grand prize of 1,000,000 (ONE MILLION) Afghanis for the first round of its highly acclaimed “Roshan Millionaire” promotion.
The winner, Rasool Daad from Wardak province of Afghanistan, received 1,000,000 Afghanis after his Roshan phone number was randomly selected in a draw conducted in the presence of a representative from Afghanistan’s Telecom Regulatory Authority (ATRA).
“I couldn’t believe it at first when I received a call from Roshan’s Customer Service Helpline telling me my phone number was selected in the draw!” said Rasool Daad. “My friends were telling me this could not be true and almost convinced me not to go to the nearest Roshan store as the Customer Service Representative requested,” he added. “But Roshan is a company that we trust and it’s made my dream come true.”
“Roshan Millionaire” is the first of its kind promotion where Roshan customers who top up 80 Afghanis or more are automatically enrolled in a draw and have the chance to win weekly cash prizes of 50,000 Afghanis and the final grand prize of 1,000,000 (ONE MILLION) Afghanis.
“We launched this promotion to help our customers have the chance to be part of our business,” said Shireen Rahmani, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Roshan. “We’re proud that our innovative promotion has inspired other businesses to launch similar programs in support of our people in these difficult times.”
The weekly winners of the first round of “Roshan Millionaire” promotion came from Herat, Kabul, Wardak, Badghis, Farah, Takhar and Kunduz provinces of Afghanistan.
The first round of “Roshan Millionaire” promotion was launched in November of 2016 and ended on January 31st, 2017. The second round of “Roshan Millionaire” will be launched on March 2nd and will run through the end of May, offering the chance to Roshan customers to win 1,500,000 (one and half million) Afghanis as the grand final prize.
